Ingredients
Note: 1 lb dry macaroni = 4 cups.
1 lb uncooked elbow macaroni (1 Cup)
4 C water (1½ C)
1 tsp Kosher salt (2 pinches)
3 Tbsp butter, cut into small pieces (1 Tbsp)
2 ½ C shredded cheese (1 C)
Up to ½ C whole milk (Probably 0 - 1 Tbsp)
Optional Ingredients:
Chopped onions
Chopped ham
Capers
Instructions
- Put the pasta, water, and salt into the Instant Pot. Pressure for 4 minutes using the manual function. Quick release the steam so the macaroni won't be over cooked.
- Gently stir in the butter until melted.
- Add the cheese, stir until melted and blended. Add milk if added moisture is needed.
- Add any optional ingredients.
- Let stand 5-10 minutes to allow the mixture to thicken.
