Instructions

Foundation Chain: Multiples of 5.

Note: Traditionally this stitch is performed using a broomstick handle. You can also use a large knitting needle, paper towel roll, or curling iron. Just make sure the curling iron is unplugged...
1. Draw the final chain of your foundation chain up over the broomstick. Crochet back into the chain, drawing up a loop in each stitch and pulling it up over the broomstick. Repeat until you have drawn up a loop through every stitch in your chain and transferred them onto the broomstick. This step creates the large loops of yarn you will see in the finished lace.
   
   Tip: At this point, if it is easier for you to manage, you can remove the large needle from your work altogether.


2. Row 2: Slide your hook through the first 5 loops and pull them off the broomstick. Yarn over and pull through the group of large loops on your hook. Work one single crochet for every loop in the group (5). Continue this process until all the loops have been crocheted into.


3. Warning: Make sure to check how many loops you have in each group to avoid accidental increases or decreases. Repeat rows 1 and 2 until you have reached your desired length.
