1. Make a slip knot on hook.
2. Chain 2.
3. Insert hook into first chain stitch.

4. Yarn over and pull one loop through.

5. Yarn over and pull through one loop again. The yarn you just pulled through is actually a chain stitch. You might want to add a removable stitch marker so you don't forget.
