• Shell Group: ch 3, 3 dc around post of dc
• Base of ch: Work in first stitch
• ch 3 counts as first dc

Instructions:

• Foundation: Ch 29. 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in next ch,
  * ch 2, skip 2 ch, 1 sc in next ch, ch 2, skip 2 ch, 1 dc in each of next 3 ch *
  rpt from * to * to end. Turn.
• Next Row: Ch 3, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc,
  * skip ch2, 1 dc in next sc, ch 3, work 3 dc around post of same dc,
  skip ch2, 1dc in each of next 2 dc.*    rpt from * to * to end,
  working last dc in top of ch3. Turn. (3 shell groups)

• Repeat Pattern Rows 1 and 2 until you have worked 42 rows in all.
• Repeat Pattern Row 1 once. Turn
• Next Row: Ch 1, sc in base of ch1, work sc in each of next 2 dc,
  *sc in ch2 sp, sc in sc, sc in ch2 sp, sc in each of next 3 dc,*
  repeat from * to * to end, working last sc in top of ch3. Turn. (21 sc)
• Next Row: Starting with ch 1, sc in base of ch1, sc in each sc to end. Fasten off.
• Next: Repeat last 2 sc rows along starting chain edge. Fasten off.
• Finishing: Weave in loose ends of yarn and trim. Decorate with large button or brooch.
