Putting it Together
Step 1:

Reverse Single Crochet Tuitorial here.
The diamonds will not fit together perfectly at first. I recommend laying them in position and blocking them into the star shape before crocheting them together. It isn’t required but I think you’ll have better results if you do.
Step 2:

Fasten off and weave in all of your ends.

Bind on the white colorway at any point of the hexagon.
Round 1: Ch 1 and single crochet in same space (only counts as one stitch).
*Make one sc in each of the next 10 stitches. Make one sc in the corner of red diamond. Make 2 sc in the ch 3 gap space of next white diamond. Make one sc in the next 10 stitches. In the next ch 2 gap – 2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc.*
Repeat instructions beginning with *
Repeat until you have made it around the hexagon. Join with a slst to the first stitch. (29 stitches each flat side)
Fasten off white colorway and weave in your ends.

Round 2: Ch 1.
*Sc in next 4 sts. Hdc in next 3 sts. Dc in next 4 sts. Tc in next 3 sts. Dtc in the next stitch. Tc in next 3 sts. Dc in next 4 sts. Hdc in next 3 sts. Sc in next 4 sts. Sc once in the ch 2 space.*
Repeat instructions beginning with *
Repeat until you have made it around the hexagon. Join with a slst to the first chain.
Blocking one last time is a good idea to get a clean hexagon shape!
