Margarita

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn in white and color of choice
• F / 3.75 mm crochet hook
• row marker
• 4.5 mm safety eyes
• fiber fill stuffing
• yarn needle
• Wire and thin cardboard

Instructions:

Margarita Top (color of choice)
Foundation: Magic Ring
• rnd 1: sc 6. [6]
• rnd 2: inc 6. [12]
• rnd 3: *sc 1, inc* repeat 6 times. [18]
• rnd 4: sc 1, inc 1, *sc 2, inc* rep 5 times, sc 1. [24]
• rnd 5: *sc 3, inc* rep 6 times. [30]
• rnd 6: sc5, inc, *sc 9, inc* 2 times, sc 4. [33]
Note: See note below in Cup section and increase top accordingly.
Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing.

Stem (white yarn)
Foundation: Magic Ring
• rnd 1: sc 5. [5]
• rnd 2-7: sc in each st. [5]
Note: Stem needs to be a bit longer. Allow for insertsion of ⅛" dowel in stem and continue into base and cup. Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing.

Base or foot: (white yarn) (make 2)
Use the instructions for first 3 rounds of Margarita Top. [18]
Note: Make one of the bases with a slope to give space to stabilize dowel in stem. Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing.

Margarita Cup (color of choice)

• rnd 1: sc 6. [6]
• rnd 2: inc 6. [12]
• rnd 3: sc in each st. [12]
• rnd 4: *sc 1, inc* repeat 6 times. [18]
• rnd 5-7: sc in each st. [18]
• rnd 8: in front loops only: *sc 1, inc* repeat 9 times. [27]
• rnd 9: sc, inc, *sc 2, inc* repeat 8 times, sc. [36]
Note: (This section needs to be more than 36, much wider maybe 48 sts.)


• rnd 10-12: sc in each st. [36]
Switch to white yarn for salty rim.
• rnd 13-14: sc in each st. [36]
Fasten off, weave in ends.

Assembly:
If you would like your margarita to stand up, you can place a wire inside the stem and a small cardboard circle between the base layers.

1. Sew one end of the stem to the bottom of the margarita cup and the other end to the center of one of the cup bases.
2. Insert wire loop through top of base and through stem into cup. Insert small dowel in stem. Level and fill the cone with hot Gorilla glue.
3. Cut cardboard circle the size of the cup bottom base. Then sew the cup bases together, inserting the cardboard circle between them.
4. Attach eyes between rnds 11 and 12.
5. Sew on the margarita top inside the cup along rnd 12. Stuff the cup before you finish sewing all the way around.
