Montana Morgan has just arrived in Laguna Harbor a small fishing village on the Texas Gulf Coast to claim her inheritance of an out-of-business hamburger joint from her recently deceased grandfather. On her way to his house that would become her home for the foreseeable future a deer attempts to jump over her pickup and lands on the hood instead. This is the beginning of her troubles and acquaintance with the villagers who are to become her friends and source of aid and comfort.
